KL's ORGANIC RED QUINOA AND SLOW-COOKED GREENS

Here's a recipe pic that I posted on my Instagram but didn't post on the blog... probably because I "move too fast!"

It's slow cooked kale and mustard greens with yellow onions seasoned with coconut oil, cayenne pepper, onion powder and sea salt along with organic red quinoa next to a sliced tomato.

The red quinoa cooks up so fluffy in under 20 minutes and it tastes so good plain or when I add a dash of sea salt and pepper (I usually mix the quinoa into the greens as I eat).

The big fresh-cut vine ripe tomato was dashed with fresh herbs to compliment the tender slow-cooked greens!

SoOoO Delicious!

KL's WILD URBAN SALAD

The spring weather is on point for fresh good local food that grows naturally in the wild... Even in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO.

So, while getting some cardio exercise (walking through the neighborhood) after my chest and abs workout, I took notice of lots of wild dandelions and wild green onions growing practically in every yard.

On my way home I grabbed some wild green onions along the way, then right in my own front yard, dandelions are in full bloom with greens the size of kale leaves so I picked a few of the greens right off of the living plant... Talk about fresh, huh?!

So here's the fast, healthy and simple home made recipe I whipped up in a few minutes!

Ingredients:

Organic Green Leaf Lettuce
Wild Dandelion Greens
Wild Green Onion
Cilantro
Red Bell Pepper
Dill Weed

For my tasty home made dressing (not shown), I added the following ingredients together:

Cold Pressed Olive Oil
Organic Raw Blue Agave Nectar
Fresh Squeezed Key Lime
Cayenne Pepper
Sea Salt

KL's RAW BANANA AVOCADO PUDDING

Ingredients:
2 Banana
1 Avocado
2 tablespoon Raw Almond Butter
1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon Raw Blue Agave Nectar
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Prep:
Add the above ingredients to blender and blend on the lowest setting (On my Oster, that is "stir") until mixed well.

Once the ingredients have been mixed together well, crank up the speed on the blender to a "cream" setting for about three (3) minutes.

All done when the consistency is creamy.

Pour into a glass or bowl and add your favorite fresh fruit or nut toppings and enjoy!

HINT:
Place what's left in the freezer for a raw "ice cream" snack!

KL's DIRTY SOUTH SWAMP SMOOTHIE

This is for my folks who want to get their nutrition the RIGHT way; who workout, hit the gym, health conscious, and don't know what to eat/drink during the transition period from poor health to good health... Or just don't know what to eat/drink to gain muscle, boost energy, gain weight, which foods contain the highest source of nutrition, etc.

This is also for my folks who LOVE to diss vegan & vegetarian food choices, and where they get their proteins and other nutrition from!

Let me introduce you to... spirulina!

Since this is "The FAST Life" blog, do the research on spirulina yourself and in the meantime, put the recipe to work and trust me when I tell you that spirulina contains: protein, iron, potassium, copper, calcium, Vitamins A B C D & E, chlorophyll, manganese, magnesium, selenium, chromium, zinc, phosphorus, sodium and beta-carotene!

Ingredients:
Organic Kale, 1 cup, fresh cut
Organic Pineapple, quarter, peeled
Organic Spirulina (Powder), teaspoon
Coconut Oil, tablespoon
Organic Cayenne Pepper, teaspoon
Spring Water, 1 cup, or ice cubes

Organic Raw Blue Agave Nectar, 1-2 tablespoon
Strawberries, 8
Ground Cinnamon, half teaspoon

So next time you're at a GNC, tell the associates to, "kiss your a$%!" because they are selling lies, and potential health problems!
