KL's GARDEN-GROWN DEEP-FRIED OKRA

Shout out to my daddy for having roots in the south and my mama for having such a wonderful son like ME---WoOoO!!

So tonight I deep-fried a bunch of sliced garden-grown organic okra in 100% Grape Seed Oil... and it was delicious!!

The "batter" was simply Whole Spelt Flour and a few seasonings mix of Onion Powder, Cayenne Pepper, and Sea Salt.

PREP: 5 MIN
COOK: 3 MIN

SERVES: 2

INGREDIENTS:
Whole Okra, 10
Cayenne Pepper
Sea Salt
Whole Spelt Flour
Onion Powder
100% Grape Seed Oil

PREP:
Batter---Mix 1/2 cup Spelt Flour with 1 tablespoon Onion Powder, 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, and 1 teaspoon Sea Salt.
Rinse okra well and slice into bite-size pieces.
Heat Grape Seed oil in fryer on medium-high heat.
Add batter to a re-sealable bag and add cut okra then close. Shake well until okra is well battered then remove and add to hot oil.

COOK:
Cook the okra 3 minutes or until all okra floats at the top of the cooking oil---since we're using Whole Spelt Flour in this recipe, the batter should be just slightly darker than golden brown when ready!

Remove from oil and place on a napkin to drain excess oil from cooked okra and dash with Sea Salt (optional).

ENJOY!!!
