KL's MEXICAN POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

I went "south of the border" with this recipe and it's still packed with nutrition that the body can quickly absorb in a smoothie!

Most of the ingredients are native to Mexico, and the minerals are also native to the body in regards to balancing pH inside your body!

Protein, Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Potassium, Iron, Manganese, Phosphorus and more!

Here's what I used...

Ingredients:
Organic Black Kale Lacinato
Jicama
Fresh 100% Florida Orange Juice
Organic Cayenne Pepper
Ground Cinnamon
Organic Raw Blue Agave Nectar

KL's POST WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

On Tuesday, I workout the biceps, triceps and I also get some squats and leg lifts in too!

So after I got it on real good, I needed some nutrition to fuel me for the day.
Here is the ingredients that I chose to give me lots of protein, iron, fiber, potassium, vitamin C, vitamin A, and some healthy fats that the body can use:

Ingredients:
Kale
Jicama
Orange
Banana
Coconut Oil
Cayenne Pepper
Ground Cinnamon
Raw Blue Agave Nectar
Distilled Water Ice Cubes

KL's JUMBO IMMUNITY SMOOTHIE

This smoothie will aid in detoxifying the body and feeding your cells the nutrition it needs to fight off toxins, disease, releasing stored waste in the colon, and rebuilding the defense system.

Drink it 3-6 times a day for up to 10 days as a detox, natural cleanse, or liquid fast program. Be sure to drink lots of spring or distilled water daily too!
Water is a generator of the cells and organs, and gets things going.

Kale has lots of protein (and iron for those folks who worry about where proteins come from for vegetarians), mangos have lots of fiber as well as vitamins & minerals, oranges have lots of immune boosters & fiber too, cayenne pepper is a great anti-fungal and digestive aid, agave is a natural sweetener (a plant used widely by Aztecs) that is used to substitute sugar and agave can also be used to treat constipation and excess gas, cinnamon is a great anti-bacterial and is high in iron and calcium!

Ingredients:
Kale, lots of fresh cut
Orange, fresh or not from con.
Mango, peeled and pit removed
Cayenne Pepper, half a teaspoon
Raw Blue Agave Nectar, tablespoon
Ground Cinnamon, half a teaspoon

KL's PLANT POWER SALAD

Late night dinner after work called for a quick and simple salad.

A bed of my favorite greens, fresh cut kale, topped with a few fresh cut green vegetables and herbs makes this a salad a tasty yet powerful dinner meal that will help you recharge quickly after a long day!

Ingredients:
Kale
Cucumber
Green Bell Pepper
Dill Weed
Basil
Sea Salt
Cayenne
Grape Seed Oil
Raw Blue Agave Syrup

KL's CHICK-IN SPELT SOFT TACO

If you've never had chickpeas, you better get hip real FAST!

It's the main ingredient in "hummus" and it's a great source of protein and fiber for those who lack it in their daily nutrition.

The spelt wraps were purchased at Whole Foods Market and contain all natural ingredients and no corn syrup or additives!

Ingredients:
Chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
Baby Bella mushrooms
Yellow onion
Roma tomato
Red Leaf lettuce
Spelt flour wrap (organic)
Chives
Basil
Cayenne pepper
Sea salt


Prep:
The chickpeas were slow cooked with yellow onion and bay leaves for 2 hours.

Next, in a small saucepan, the chickpeas and [well-rinsed] mushrooms were heated together for 5 minutes with the flavorful seasonings (chives, basil, cayenne, onion powder, sea salt) to create the "meat" of the taco/burrito/wrap (which ever you prefer to make). 

Strain any excess liquid so that it doesn't make your taco messy as you're eating it, or mash it up a little with a spoon our fork to make the "meat" easier to handle... if you're a rookie!

The spelt wrap was warmed on the open gas range for 30 seconds, constantly flipped every 5 or so seconds to prevent over cooking or burning.

Fresh cut vegetables for toppings of your choice makes this meal more memorable as I chose red leaf lettuce and Roma tomato for my CHICK N taco, whoooooo!

KL's SUNFLOWER SALAD

Here's a healthy spin on a salad that'll have the baseball fans going crazy!

Ingredients:

Bed of fresh kale greens
Bed of fresh red leaf lettuce
Fresh cut Roma tomato
Fresh cut yellow onion
Dill weed (harvested herb)
Cilantro (harvested herb)
Raw shelled sunflower seeds

Dressing:

Tablespoon 100% grape seed oil
Tablespoon squeezed key lime
Teaspoon raw blue agave
Dash of sea salt
Dash of cayenne pepper

KL's GORILLA GOO SMOOTHIE

Its a busy day for me so I have to make this blog post recipe FAST...

Ingredients:
1 cup Cantaloupe
1 cup Orange Juice, 100% Pure
1 cup Strawberries
1 cup Kale
1 banana
3 distilled water ice cubes

Blend on high speed until nice and smooth!

KL's SUNDAY MELON SMOOTHIE

This is a great mix of fruits and herbs that'll get your Sunday off to a great start.

I enjoyed this tasty smoothie while watching the Miami Heat play against the New York Knicks today!

Ingredients:

3 cups cut cantaloupe melon
2 peeled kiwi
2 distilled water ice cubes
1 cup 100% pure orange juice
1 tablespoon raw blue agave
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 dash of cayenne pepper
1 dash of cinnamon

Add to blender and blend until smooth.

Serves 2
